Crew change can take place at berth, anchorage and Off Port Limits (OPL), and we collect the crew members from airport assisting them safely on board. When necessary we also arrange suitable hotel accommodation according to requirements. For some particular cases we also carry out crew changes by helicopter.
We are obliged to clear all On and Off signing crew at our local immigrations office, and for which we need in advance all personal details (Name, Surname, Date and Place of Birth, Passport number and expiry date) along with the full flight itinerary.
All on-signing crew members of russian, filipino, ucranian, chinese, indian and others of this nature must arrive to Spain with valid Visas (schengen), and these cannot be arranged upon arrival by us. Regarding this we can send an invitation letter to the Spanish Embassy of their nation (10-15 working days in advance). Since November 2010, European regulations have been ammended and issue of Visas on arrival to European airports is unfortunately no longer a possibility.
Schengen Visas for departing crew members may be arranged by us, but the immigration service require at least two working days notice to process the visa issue. The visa itself can only be physically be issued in seafarers the passport from Monday to Friday between 09:00hrs and 13:00hrs.
To support the crew change service we use:
- Official insured cars, micro buses and larger busesaccording to numbers.
- 3, 4 and 5 star hotels where crew can stay until vessel arrives or flight departures.
- Large sevice boat with capacity upto 22 seated crew members per trip.
