Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the most important ports in the Mid Atlantic area for bunkering, and counts with modern and safe methods for bunkering. The amount of bunkering supplied in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is close to one million tons per year. All the harbour bunkering installations are classified with code ISO 9001:2002000 and ISO 9001:2008 endorsed by LLoyd's Register Quality Assurance.
Cepsa has one large refinery based in the port area wherefore in Santa Cruz de Tenerife all grades of fuel can be found 24 hours a day, every single day of the year. Although bunkering alongside is available only at pier Dique del Este, bunkers at anchorage is available via any of the two bunker barges operated by Petrocan / Cepsa: Spabunker 61 and Spabunker 50.
The bunker barge Spabunker 61 is a smaller bunker barge, able to attend vessels of LOA of 90 metres up and over. She is 52.83 metres long, with a beam of 16.80metres. Her cargo capacity is 2.320 mts.
The bunker barge Spabunker 50 is a large bunker barge with LOA 84.93 metres long, and with a beam of 16.25 metres, wherefore minimum LOA of attended vessels at anchorage to ensure a safe delivery is about 125 metres. Her cargo capacity is of 4.901 mts.
